Dean of StudiesRev. Anthony Dean CMRev. Anthony (Tony) Dean is Head of the Biblical Studies Department and lectures in Hebrew and the Old Testament at Melbourne’s Catholic Theological College. He is a priest of the Congregation of the Mission (known as the Vincentians). In 2007 he took up the role of the Dean of Studies at Corpus Christi. Fr Tony holds a Licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute (Rome), incorporating studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies on the Psalms within the Melbourne College of Divinity. He has lectured in Biblical Studies at St Francis Xavier Seminary within the Adelaide College of Divinity (1980-1987), and was Lecturer in Biblical Studies at United Theological Institute within the Sydney College of Divinity (1990-1995). His current academic interests are the Psalms, the early religion of Israel, and pre-Israelite and early Israelite theology. He recently published ‘Nos autem in Nomine Domini’ in Oceania Vincentian. |
