Grounds and Buildings
- to meet regularly, and to ensure that agenda and minutes of meetings are given to the Rector and posted on the noticeboard in good time, for the information of the Community;
- to monitor that grounds, buildings, plant and equipment are being maintained in good order, and to report requests for service and repairs to the College Office directly;
- to work in conjunction with Maintenance and Cleaning staff to involve seminarians in the proper upkeep of the College grounds, gardens and buildings;
- to co-ordinate and conduct regular working bees, involving all seminarians in non-routine tasks for the upkeep of the College;
- to assist with room inspections at the end of each term; and to oversee the vacation of rooms and storage of student belongings at year-end;
- to manage the fire panel and co-ordinate regular fire drills, in order to ensure that the College community is aware of all fire and safety procedures;
- to regularly review fire and safety procures, and to ensure the College community is properly notified;
- to monitor use of the College carpark, ensuring that parking is available for occasional guests, and that available parking is effectively used for special events; and to implement procedures for minimising unauthorised use of the carpark;
- to monitor that the College campus and buildings are secured at all times, and to report faulty locks or security breaches to the College Office directly;
- to manage the return of keys as required at the end of term, the distribution of keys at the resumption of College; and the distribution and return of keys used by guests as required;
- to ensure that daily newspapers are regularly disposed of, that the recycle bin is put out for collection, and that the rubbish skip is emptied as scheduled.
